The industrial area of western Crown Heights is ripe for development, in our opinion. One big project underway in the area is at 892 Bergen Street between Classon and Franklin. When all’s said and done, the now-six-story building will be ten, with 38 residential units and 19 parking spaces. Anyone know anything about the architectural firm behind it, Edelman Sultan Knox Wood? GMAP P*Shark DOB

  1. I live right across the street from this at 891 Bergen and I’ve been watching this development for several months now. Now you can lament the condo constructions in your long-gentrified Williamsburg, but if you lived in this neighborhood you would agree that ANY development is good development. Bringing residential to this block is inevitable, though, so I’m embracing it. None of you bleeding hearts saw what was there before, nor have you seen the condemnable dope complex down the street.

  2. I have no idea what this will look like in the end, but I do know that people will complain that it is ugly. Guaranteed.

Count your blessing, 1:54. It’s a rare occurrence that we are spared Montrose Morris’s verbose drivel.

  3. “Oh yeah. Truly ripe. Who the hell wouldn’t want to live there? So many services. Such beautiful architecture. Such great schools. And oh so safe.”

Thanks for sharing. The neighborhood will benefit tremendously by your absence.
