Flatbush-Flatiron-Site-030608.jpgWhile some other projects in the area are on hold, work at the Flatbush Flatiron continues apace. As far as we can tell, after about two months of work, they must be getting near the end of the excavation phase. Perhaps more exciting is the news of a pool at the Tillary tip of triangle. Now, by pool, we assume we’re talking about some kind of scenic reflecting pool or fountain and not some place for the high-fliers who will inhabit this place to do some laps, but one can always dream! After all, it looks to be about 30-by-60-feet large.

  1. Hey 8:29, according to Streeteasy, ORO has sold 159 apartments out of 300, so that’s like 53%. Not great, but not terrible considering the building won’t take occupancy til the summer. Also, the “spaceship” will only be 21 stories, so it’s not really gonna block any views at ORO…by are people on the blog collectively the most negative cynical people on the planet. You fuckers need a hug or something…

  2. What idiot thought a pool here would help sales, oops I meant rentals. This is possibly THE worst location in all of Brooklyn. I wonder what the 25 people who purchased in the ORO think about their views being blocked by this spaceship of a building. It might not matter being that the plan can’t be deemed effective till 50% of the units are sold so ORO may turn out to be a rental as well.

  3. Underground? Yipes… imagine the giant Farragut Houses-sized waterbugs that will be crawling around down there. They will fatten up on McDonalds garbage before slipping into their new luxury digs.

  4. What a great place for a pool! You can lie pool-side breathing in the fumes of Tillary and the BQE, all while being treated to non-stop sirens from the firehouse across the way. I hope this is elevated well above street level at least.
