Although the downzoning-related Stop Work Order from last October remains in place, 136 Clifton Place (aka 315 Greene Avenue) just got approval from DOB for a New Building application originally filed by none other than Karl Fischer way back in December 2005. The 48-unit project, which wasn’t exactly a hit with the neighbors when it was live, is being brought to you by the same developers currently putting up the 12-story building just down the block at 339 Greene Avenue and is being financed by a $12.5 million construction loan from CPC. This one’s only slated to be four stories though. 315 Greene Avenue/136 Clifton Place [Brownstoner] GMAPP*SharkDOB

want to see sales/growth in Bed-Stuy!??? walk 15 minutes further on Dekalb ave; they sold out on “Dekalb Lofts” about a year ago.
now there’s more Loft/Condo construction on Dekalb ave on the way! This time I’m going to jump on it!!!
this part of bed stuy borders clinton hill and it is doing very well in sales/growth-if you drive another 15 minutes further into the neighborhood, the story may be different.

Though I welcome development in Bed-Stuy, must it be out of place with the existing low-rise nature of the area?
Ugh.
