Since we last took at look at the Bedford Avenue building boom, several of the buildings have been completed. And it ain’t a pretty picture. Here are five examples between Wallabout Street and Myrtle Avenue.

  1. That is interesting 11:17. It is pretty much the same with Muslims. Converts are often held in high esteem because they chose the faith and often practice a pure – NOT FUNDAMENTALIST – Islam which has not been adulterated with a lot of the cultural nonsense often affiliated with Islam itself. Many Arab’s who are not the majority of Muslims in the world, often don’t make prayers or fast Ramadan but will feed into anti-Jewish, anti-American rhetoric.

  2. that was great 8:16! Thanks for the laugh!

You were told sorta wrong, 7:21. Yes- you are considered Jewish through your mother’s side but that because in biblical times there was no way to prove fatherhood. but tracing your heritage is the same as cultures that have family clans. It traces your family relationships. If a Jewish woman has a child by a Black man, that child is still considered Jewish. If you convert, you are no longer considered Jewish, except by heritage.

Jews don’t go out to find converts- Jews believe that if someone truly wants to be Jewish, they will come to us.in fact, converts are considered to be better Jews than born Jews, the thinking being that they made the choice for themselves and so are more committed to Judaism.

  3. I never really thought that I couldn’t move into one of these buildings (for not being hasidic)…. I’m black (so maybe that makes it worse…

ps (on a different idea, I was told being truly Jewish is passed onfrom your mother’s side and even converts are judged by G-d differently then the children of Abraham…so doesn’t that kinda make it a race..)

  4. People hate what they fear, and they hate those who are different. And we live in a world that fosters divisiveness not unity. People love scapegoats and Blacks and Jews seem to get the worst of it.

Hatred of Jews goes back to early Christianity and has been passed down through 1000’s of years. Kind of amazing when you people say the past is the past, and history isn’t important.

  5. People hate Jews and other ethnic, racial and religious groups for many reasons. Some of those people are unintelligent and have no success but unfortunately not all of them are. That excuse would be too easy. It is very scary to think that an otherwise intelligent, educated and successful person could be capable of such hate. We have many examples, Henry Ford being only one, of many people who hate Jews and others for no good reason.
