Satori Condos Get the Chop
Though units were only listed in late August, prices have dropped at Boerum Hill’s Satori condos, according to StreetEasy. The most expensive unit, a 1,383-square-foot two-bed, three-bath, shaved $100,000 off the asking price, making it $825,000. A 499-square-foot studio dropped $76,000, to $399,000. I would say this is a price trim- with a little knife. We need a much begger price cut to say chop.
“Oh to capture just one drop of all the ecstasy that swept that afternoon
To paint that love upon a white balloon
And fly it from the toppest top of all the tops that man has pushed beyond his brain
Satori must be something just the same.”
–David Bowie, “Memory of a Free Festival”
The art gallery down the block is cool as well as the walk around the block to the train. The wood is interesting and I saw it on a recent trip to Amsterdam. Cool wet climate with wood laminate facade gotta work in the hood.
Reminds me of the CH in the 80’s
I went to the open house a few weekends ago.. The block is really crappy. Not sure how much $ you’ll have to spend on custom window shades, the building with all of the studio and 1 bedrooms is a walk-up (the stairway is dim and super narrow).. no lobby to speak of. The stairs to the loft in the model apartment were very steep, I guess that’s what you have to do to save space.. but it would be very easy to take a nasty fall.
Realtor said that maintenance charge included garbage (?) and maybe hot water and heat. Not a single amenity to speak of. Maybe that is to go with the whole minimalist feel? I kind of liked the layout of the one bedroom with the roof terrace but for 560K..
ehh.. not so much. but I think it had 2 kitchen cabinets!
You would have be high to buy there.
It looks better than a lot of junk out there but it’s in the flood zone. Make sure you buy high!
I haven’t been inside the building, but I walk by it several times a week. It’s not a nice street or corner and too close to the canal to be a great location. But it is within two blocks of good stuff: southern Smith Street, Carroll Park (if you have children), and the F train. In the other direction and one block farther is 5th Avenue. Of course, if Toll Brothers do what they say they want to do, the building will be within sight and hearing of a huge, multi-year construction project.
indeed. love that area. Boerum Hill is a cool hood.
you’re probably thinking of the place on state street at hoyt, which is another scarano building that has the same facade material.
