The face of Sterling Green, at 580 Sterling Place on the Crown Heights/Prospect Heights border, has been bricked up. The developer, Seth Brown, sent us a few words about his aesthetic choices. “The goal with the brick at Sterling Green was to try to match the look and feel of the 100-year-old brick buildings on the block. I think we did pretty well. We’re obviously creating a contemporary building, but we also want to make sure it fits into the neighborhood and relates to its neighbors.” The building will have eight units and five stories with alcove studios and one-bedrooms from 552 to 1,071 square feet, and green amenities such as tankless hot water heaters, wind power and bamboo flooring.

If the developer wanted it to fit in, he would not have put those hideous balconies on the front of the building. Those are always an eyesore and detract immediately from the street appeal for any potential buyers.
I wish it had lined up with the other brick buildings and not the little frame house…
