Good news for chicken lovers out there: Roosters, a new rotisserie restaurant, has opened at 448 Lafayette Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant. The chicken is hormone-free, the seating is family-style, and the service friendly, according to the Bed Stuy Blog, which stopped in right before the new year. Anyone tried the food yet? GMAP

  1. Been there a few times. The gay French guy at the register is rude in the daytime. The other French guy is always drunk. My girlfriend liked this place. The chicken is undercooked. It never gets better and I won’t be back.
There a KFC on the corner with normal food. Don’t waste money at Roosters or should I say Rudesters.

  2. 1/2 chicken was not good – it had an after taste. I threw it away after I tasted the wing portion. Yuck!

Sweet potato fries and the corn on the cob?

Even the Gulls wouldn’t eat them.

  3. Just ordered from Rooster. Immediate service for an early Friday night (about 10 min to deliver from phone call). I recommend the garlic & herb chicken. Nicely spiced (so was the corn on the cob, a pleasant surprise). That was a highlight. I always set myself up by ordering everyone’s mac&cheese…it was ok. But really, I have no complaints. They seemed to have a million sides! Thanks for the rec, now I have someone besides Bistro Lafayette to bug.

  4. The place is own by a French guy. Cheap, great sides and really tasty birds. You can also special order “Red Label” (special breed from France) Chicken, it’s supposed to be the best ever.

  5. No love for rotisserrie??

Give me 1/4 of a rotisserrie chicken with a half pound of olives and I’m set for dinner….YUMMY!
