Development Watch: Stuck in the Mud at 365 Union Avenue
Other than one busted window getting fixes, not a whole lot appears to have changed at 365 Union Street since we last took a look in early November. The Scarano-designed project contains seven units. Development Watch: 365 Union Avenue [Brownstoner] GMAP DOB

haha if you think i’m actually a hipster then i don’t know what to tell you!
Wow – what exactly would be a “worthy” contribution? Anyway, I think the painter cap crowd needs to chill. At least back in the day real hipsters smoked weed and could care less about this crap.
I live around the corner and I think they will all be rentals. No one these days would want to “invest” on that block of Union Ave. There is plenty to do around here Gimme Coffee, DuMont, Le Barricou, Barcade, Huckleberry Bar, Leonard Branch of the NYPL is 2 blocks away! Sals Pizza!
Also the rental building on Hope St. has Zipcars so now I have a 5 minute walk to a Zipcar, and E-Z highway access – you can shoot down to Fairway in Red Hook in 10-15 minutes if you go late to avoid traffic.
The fact remain Union Ave is not very pleasant. G train rumbles right under it- no trees, lots of subway grates – and it’s loud and 2 blocks from the BQE so I’m sure it’s all sooty if you open your windows (I lived for a time on South 5th and Marcy and the soot was a real bummer)
Rentals for hipsters, shoe horn them in! Can’t wait to see the raggy blankets-as-window-treatment in action on those big windows.
I lived across the street. New Apolo sells drinks to go, and the shopping on Grand Street used to be pretty great. It’s actually a pretty good location — close to all trains, including the JMZ. That being said, I don
‘t recrognize it now.
It’s close to the train, that’s gotta mean something.
heh. James bong. You are one to talk. Oh look, now you’ve made me worthlessly contribute to this thread.
THat being said, wtf is actually up with all the condos on union ave? I’d be interested to hear about the status of those behemoth buildings across from Barcade. Still in motion? Left to rot like most everything else?
Dirty hipster – your name says it all.
I live there – I love it. Oh, I have a job too. Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing to this thread. Cheers!
That part of billyburg is pretty crappy – unless your on daddies dime, not sure why anybody with an actual job or family would want to live there. good luck.
