We’ve wanted the Lofts on Lex condos to do well from the beginning. First, because we have a soft spot for Lexington Avenue; second, because we tend to prefer loft conversions to new construction; third, we like to root for attractively-done projects, especially in places like Bed Stuy that get dealt more than their fair share of crap. So how have they been doing? So-so, we’d say. According to the developer, five units have closed and three are in contract; they had accepted offers on a few more but the “challenging” financing environment has not made things easy. There are no plans to go rental, says the developer, and offers at or slightly below $400 a foot are likely to get a deal done. Current listings range from $399,000 for a 916-square-foot loft to $849,000 for a 1,524-square-foot penthouse.

I agree Heather, the fixutres here are great. The ones next door are just crap. I mean worse than Target. Dollar General cabinets. The bathrooms sucked too.
I’ll check back in at the end of the year to see how youre doing, b/c if im not mistaking the building is still fairly empty?

Heather, which units did you look at because all the units I looked at the bedrooms had windows in them. I also liked the 2 bathrooms because my husband leaves for work much earlier than I do, so I wouldn’t have to hear him getting ready. Not “overrated” at all in my book….actually a selling point for us.
Yes, but there are no WINDOWS for the bedrooms, and you have too many bathrooms. Other than that, you all did a great job, it’s just that in my experience, windows are a good thing and mutiple bathrooms vastly overrated.
Hi werner:
These are built as open lofts, which some people prefer. Some of buyers need bedrooms, which we are happy to build out. One of our model has bedrooms, so people can compare the different options.
best,
the development team.
I don’t understand why they don’t build places like these out with more bedrooms? Most of them don’t even have one bedroom and there’s not a 2 bed in the whole bunch. Doesn’t seem very logical to me.
I like the ones next door better, in terms of space but these have nicer fixtures. I’m curious too, if they went rental I’d be sorely tempted.
