231-Duffield-V3-0709.jpgWe told you about the demolition of 231 Duffield Street, thought to be one of the houses with a connection to the Underground Railroad, back in March. Now, courtesy of the Brooklyn Eagle, we know what’s slated to rise on the site: V3 Hotels, which is already putting up a 24-story hotel next door at 237 Duffield, will also build a 19-story hotel at Number 231. The new project, designed by Thomas O’Hara, will have 130 rooms and cost $20 million to build. The V3 hotels are across the street from the Sheraton/Aloft combo across the street. Hotel row!

  1. Filmer – that my friend is called a double dip, but in Brooklyn those who pass the green look the other way.

I’m no architect, but a 130 room hotel won’t fit on just that patch of land.

  2. When I saw the Brooklyn Eagle article, I thought it was a couple months old. The rumors that I have heard tell me that V3 lost its financing months ago, which is probably why 237 Duffield has been sitting abandoned for so long. I spoke with someone who claimed to be working on the design concept for 231 Duffield, and he said that nothing is happening- maybe the only real news is that they hired Thomas O’Hara.

  3. Filmmer, I’m not quite sure what you are getting at (re: Greg Atkins).

What I found interesting in the Brooklyn Eagle article was the fact that they said that the project would be “self financed”
