It’s been over a year since the visigoths developers responsible for tearing down St. George’s Church at 109 Gold Street to make way for a seven-story, 33-unit residential building received their building permits from the Department of Buildings. Only in the past couple of weeks have the cinderblock walls of the building’s first floor become visible over the top of the plywood fence. As we mentioned when we checked in back in February, the one potentially saving grace about the project is that the developers have sprung for the architectural services of Kutnicki Bernstein.

  1. dirty i looked when they were still trying to sell them and the unit was 850,000 ask. Unfortun. for the broker I had been drinking in dumbo before hand and burst into laughter in the middle of the sales office. I asked him how they were selling and he said faster then they can do the paperwork. 5 months later they went rental not being able to sell. I am willing to bet that this building will have the biggest fall out of anything when this bubble is done. The apt I looked at was worth about 250 in my opinion

  2. Brickoven – funny i had a similar experience at 99 Gold 2 years ago(i think – they were marked by aptsandlofts.com right?)

they said the building was in Dumbo and wanted close to 3k for a one bedroom rental. i told the broker he was ambitious and wished him good luck.

  3. etson the building behind it is 99 Gold. It has been a complete disaster and went rental after not being able to sell. I looked in it and the apts are nice on the inside but the problem was when you looked out the window. I laughed at the broker when he told me the price so hard i would not be surprised if the guy will ever forget it. I wonder how they rented them out. Should have no problem finding a rental in that if you wanted it.
