  1. Crown Heights house is on one of the nicest blocks in the area. Only 4 blocks to the A/C at Nostrand/Fulton, near banks, Superfoodtown at Restoration Plaza. Not much around Dean, but it really is only a 15 minute walk to Stuyvesant Hts, which has Peaches, Saraghina, and Bread Stuy. Tavern on Mostrand is about 8 blocks south on Nostrand and Union, easy walk from here. Or the restaurants on Franklin, which are also only a short walk away. Also close to Children’s Museum, and you could walk to Bklyn Museum and the Park, or its 2 subway stops away on Eastern Parkway 3 train.

Long story short, nothing is right next door, but we are getting more all the time within walking distance. This house will only appreciate in value. It’s been offered on the market before, I remember it being the HOD a while back, maybe over a year. They wanted a lot more then.

  2. There’s a Key Food on Nostrand and St. Mark’s that’s ok. The usual array of Nostrand Ave. salons, cheap houseware stores and takeout. Sadly, Nostrand isn’t big on sit down places. There’s also the ole gay relic of Starlight Lounge for drinks nearby on Bergen. Divey, but good no nonense drinks.

It’s too much house for me but I’m digging the PLG place. The layout of the Bed Stuy place is unfortunate. Did I see a 4th floor kitchen but no bathroom?

  3. Dave,

Your correct in saying that things are block specific in bedstuy at times, but Macdonough is an extremely quiet block. I have a friend who owns a BS on that same block and all the houses there are amazing, and its only 2 blocks away from “stuy heights”. They might not get their asking price depending on the level of details but they should get close.

  4. The writings are in the blog.

The ancients spent beau coup bucks 120 yrs ago on the brownstones listed from BS & CH. The lucky buyers to be will be very happy and will be tycoons in 30 yrs.

  5. Babs,

Jeffrey is correct about house on Midwood & Bedford being the one where the doctor hoped put an office. I agree with his other comments too.

I’m not certain, but I THINK the house at Bedford & Fenimore is still occupied. Perhaps it’s a case of elderly residents who can’t cope. In any case,it seems like a sad situation.

  6. Not enough info or pics to know what the Bed Stuy place looks like. You have to walk each and every block in bed Stuy to get a feel for how you like it. If that house were on the same street but between Stuyvesant & Lewis it would have sold already at a higher price, that’s ONLY 2 blocks west
