All the construction netting on the Fifth Avenue Committee’s supportive housing project on 5th Avenue and 16th street has come down, and it’s now possible to see progress on the corner of the structure. The rendering above shows how it’s supposed to turn out.

  1. Hello, I was wondering what effect you think this will have on the neighborhood? I know South Slope has been growing in new construction and housing prices. What do you think will be the effect on the surrounding blocks, safety wise and pricing wise.

  2. I saw the 575 Project in person…not so bad. The Fifth Avenue Committee claims the 575 Project will be marketing to seniors, youth aging out of foster, and Brooklyn CB 7…I still wouldn’t mind obtaining one of those affordable studio apartments for myself. But it seems so impossible; has anyone been interview yet?

Best of luck to those lucky candidates.

  3. no., they cant try a little harder. what money do you think gets this built? sorry but i’d rather see this built with my tax payer money than something beautiful like the taj mahal built with with diamonds encrusted if it means it will be cheaper and service a part of our world that needs help?
