dumbo-carousel-1209.jpgWe thought it had been official since we reported it last June, but there’s an article in the Brooklyn Paper this morning saying that the directors of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corp. only just yesterday approved the gift of a restored carousel and $3.45 million from Jane and David Walentas and signed off on plans to construct a Jean Nouvel-designed glass building to house the carousel. The carousel is slated to be located in front of the southern end of the Empire Stores warehouse building overlooking the cove. The Paper says that its ongoing operation will most likely be funded by a $2 admission fee.
