Nothing Doing at Whole Foods Site

Not much of a shock since this site has sat untouched for so long at this point. GMAP
Whole Foods will open, and this will be their best location.
public place site will be cleaned & developed.
Toll brothers, will close & complete their development project and it will be a huge success
their will be No superfund, the clean up will be done by the city with EPA oversite.
whole foods needs to do this already!
really. it’s a good location. they would do well there.
also bedstuy or ft. greene as well.
Maariong – I love your building – beautiful and also love that it was mostly pre-fab (they basically trucked in the walls already assembled.) Glad to hear so few problems – seemed like a very efficient developer…Although I have to admit I hope you do not live on the 1st floor front – those apartments are literally right on the street – I dont know how anyone could live there.
I live on 2nd St. next to the warehouse on 4th Ave. between 1st and 2nd St. Our builder (successor to Bergen Tile) indicates recently the site is still under litigation. Our building had only minor construction problems, virtually all of which have been attended to. With 2 units in contract nearing closing (I hope) we’ll be 17 sold out 21 with 4 rentals. Not in a hurry for development but a Whole Foods with apts. above would be nice. Most developers on 4th Ave. have failed to incorporate commercial space, a big mistake.

rukiddingme – I really do not want to have this conversation again (since it has been covered many many times) – but if you live between 4th and 5th south of around Douglas then a drugstore at 10th-11th isnt really close, convenient or local from a pedestrian perspective.
Fairway requires access to a car and doesn’t have store brand organic products.
There is a Rite Aid on fifth avenue and tenth street and another on seventh avenue and
fifth street. There is a CVS on ninth street and fifth avenue. And a Duane Reade on Flatbush ave and seventh ave.
I agree, we have Fairway. What we need is a rite aid or CVS, there is no big store like that in the whole area.
The garage is definitly still open as is the warehouse on 2nd St
Benson that is the supreme ct decision – which was appealed to the 2nd dept:

where Fatato won again, but nevertheless the appeal was related to summary judgement – I dont know if NY Paint and Tile is still pressing the case, but I do beleive well after these decisions, they were still litigating the matter.
