On February 23rd the Board of Standards and Appeals will rule on whether to allow the Clarett Group to move forward with their original development plans, according to the BSA’s website. The project, which is supposed to consist of townhouses and condos, was halted after a zoning change was approved in Carroll Gardens. The big question about the development, though, is whether Clarett has lined up financing; as Pardon Me for Asking reported last month, a rep for the developer said backing for the project wasn’t completely in the bag yet.

  1. BK RE Vet – owner could also be obtaining all necessary entitlements to market the property for someone else to develop, no?

  2. at the very least, they need to move the blue wall back a bit, there is no room to go along the court street side because of the giant trees taking up so much of the sidewalk.

  3. seriously, stupidass luxury mansionettes or whatever they are planning to build will be better than this blighted ugly blue hole. blergh!

  4. This is good new for all concerned. Clarett wouldn’t be doing all this if they could not finance at some point. Best thing for ‘hood is to proceed otherwise you may be looking at those fences for years.

  5. Pete,
What is her deal — the woman from PMFA — is she as anti-development as she seems? I’m a big preservationist at heart — so I support a lot of her stances — but she seems to be more than a preservationist. If she is so anti-development, why?
