A few stories have been added to the development on 3rd Avenue between 7th and 8th streets since we checked in on it in October. The building will eventually be a 27-unit rental, and it’s supposed to look something like this.

  1. I’m happy to see that more people will be coming to the neighborhood, especially if these are reasonably priced.

As for the design – whatever. The fact that this neighborhood isn’t picture-perfect like park slope is a big part of the reason that it’s a little more affordable, and I’d like it to stay that way.

With that in mind, I don’t see much basis is for calling its tenants morons or baselessly assuming they aren’t earning their money. Most likely youngish people looking for a passable place to live for what they can afford, like the people I know around here. Despite whatever nonsense online comment trolls like to make up, most young people in NYC don’t have some rich parent funneling them money. And the ones who do sure as sh*t aren’t living in Gowanus.

  2. Correction: If they are rentals some kids parents will pay for their darlings (younger, more leftist version of above mentioned morons) to live there

  3. I’m waiting for some Williamsburg artist to build a house in the shape of a giant Fedders, that WILL sell. The above pictured monstrosities will only sell during a time when vast sums of money are distributed to classless morons, so pray for a financial sector recovery Fedders fans!
