All of the comments about living in our beautiful neighborhood and the schools motivated me to write this.
We moved into our wonderful home right before our son was born – over 17 years ago. He attended the local public schools – PS 217 and IS 381 and is now a senior in high school. He got a great education is a great kid and thus far has been accepted to three of the six colleges he applied to – and we fully expect him to get into the other three as well. Wake up folks !! It’s a great neighborhood and the schools are fine too!
Someone correct me if I’m wrong – was this the house that served as the “wellness” clinic on Beverly Road – medical/spa treatment center, hence the basement set up. If it isn’t this house, then it’s the neighboring one. Both were owned by the same family, I believe. They lived in one home, worked out of the other. If this IS the house that served as the medical offices/spa… could be an odd set up inside, and maybe why there are so few pix. Any locals in the know?
East 17th Street – carpet over the parquet floor, glass block in the stairwell, where the original stained glass window/s would have been… Ouch. $1.2 million? Good luck.
The East 19th Street is one of the more interesting houses (architecturally speaking) in landmarked DP. Don’t love that bathroom either, but hey – isn’t that part of buying a home that’s been renovated by someone else. You have to compromise to some extent, but you don’t have the hassle of renovation. I never understand why so many people on brownstoner kvetch so much about this particular issue. Lots of people are happy to find a house recently reno’d with decent (if not perfect) decor.
Re: 803 E. 17th: The property is 70×100, 40% wider than the 50×100 typical for the area. *Annual* property tax of $6,223 seems correct. The listing incorrectly gives it as the *monthly* taxes. Oddly, the listing doesn’t mention that this is in the landmarked Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District.
The Beverly Road house looks beautiful from the outside. Too bad there are only three interior pictures, two of which show almost nothing, the other an unfortunate kitchen.
Hahaha Mopar! I found a couple feral ones on my porch not that long ago. (None inside my house though)
Can we get back to the homes!!!
E 19th looks amazing, the floors are great! the space looks amazing for a family and someone who likes to entertain!
It seems to have it all!!
BUT, I am not sure of the kitchen and bathrooms,I have to agree with “ditmassnark” the tile on the ceilings in the bathroom just a bit over the top for me.
I am also not sure of that kitchen! The cabinets look a bit too shiny for me maybe even tacky, do not want to say cheap with out actually seeing the kitchen in person!
What’s with the dining room having the same floor as the kitchen? Maybe that could be transformed to a eating area / family room, but work better.
Time to change the subject. I bet you could fit a lot of cats in those Ditmas Park houses.
tybur6, that wasn’t meant to sound bitchy. LOL
