An eagle-eyed reader spotted this new sign outside the old bodega space at 250 4th Avenue in Park Slope. Since the camera phone photo doesn’t do it justice, we’ll tell you what it says: Oaxaca Taqueria. Could it be that the Smith Street taco maker is expanding to the other side of the canal. GMAP

  1. i walk by here everyday, and JUST today on the way back home i saw the sign, all lit up and stuff and was really confused cuz i saw no taco shop lol. and i was like has that sign always been there? hahah. im glad this is close!

  2. I walk passed there every day, I never noticed the tree gone. The LL should be fined. This is a very depressing strip of buildings, it needs more trees, can’t believe 1 was chopped down. It has potential for stores, but in the 20 years Ive know, there has been nothing worth of anything on this block.

  3. I walk by here often and sure don’t see any work getting done. But yes, yay for tacos; seems like a good fit for this part of 4th Ave. that has struggled to have successful retail businesses. I heard that the landlord of one of these buildings illegally chopped down a large tree blocking the view of the storefronts. It will be nice if the adjacent shops also get rented out; it will be a nice commercial strip with Root Hill at the corner.
