Luna Park 2.0 is scheduled to open on May 29 and from the looks of the site we got from atop the Wonder Wheel on Sunday, Zamperla, the Italian amusements company charged with reinventing the fabled destination, has got its work cut out for it. As Coney blog Amusing the Zillion recently noted, the new Luna Park will have 19 rides and no entrance fee.

  1. Luna Park 1.0, from early 20th Century was a wonderland of light. Electricty was the new technology and everything sparkled. It burned down a couple of times couple of times. Luna Park 1.5 was a fantastic, craptastic, mix of freaky funky run-down slum fun. I’ll miss it.
