The newish townhouses on Evans Street in Vinegar Hill are perfectly nice to look at in a traditional way, but they don’t have a lot of sex appeal, that’s for sure. The owner of 17 Evans Street, the one directly across from the entrance to the Commandant’s House, is taking matters into his own hands with a full-on renovation that is completely changing the facade material and window layout while tacking on a roof addition. The rendering is taken from the project architect, TKA Studio, which is located nearby in Dumbo. Assuming for the moment that Pete might be incorrect, I think this renovation is going to enhance the entire row.
I like Vinegar Hill, kinda cool, and close to DUMBO….
This could look really great — as long as there’s some kind of human-scale thing on the ground floor and not a blank facade.
netting is permanent. It is new trend. Very hip.
