Closing Bell: Williamsburg's IndieScreen
The L Magazine has a nice slideshow of Williamsburg’s new movie theater, IndieScreen. The theater, at Kent and 2nd Street, will have a restaurant and full bar (just like Europe!). It will also host film festivals throughout the summer. Photo by Crystal Gwyn/The L Magazine

I think they tried to do something with the Commodore on Broadway briefly, before it was torn down to make the lovely hole in the ground that currently graces the site?
Or have they built something there yet?
Marco is so cool – great work on all of this.
curious about ticket prices, but otherwise very cool. im surprised this didnt come sooner to williamsburg actually.

Went to a screening there on Sunday. Loved it. Sparse industrial design reminiscent of Sunshine Theatre on Houston. Screens about the same size as Film Forum. I have wanted there to be a Williamsburg movie theatre for some time. I hope it works out.
Looks great – one doesn’t have to leave this block for a decent weekend night out. Dinner and movie at Indiescreen, then walk next door to Glasslands for booze/live music/dj set.
