After a long period of inactivity, things have picked up again in the past few weeks tat 137 5th Avenue in Park Slope. The new corner building is going to have four floor-through units with a ground-floor retail space. (The gray brick structure on the side looks like it will be the shared elevator.) Here’s a rendering, although from construction it looks like it may be heading in a somewhat different direction.

No apologies necessary — I wasn’t really that serious! 🙂
I’m sorry, Park Sloper, usually there is a gap between when I write these posts and when they are published onto the site. I took this picture over the weekend, and honestly did not read the forum before I wrote it. But I’ll give credit where credit is due: for a much better picture, and another opinion on the building, go here:

Apologies!
Yes, Emily (whoever you are), you could have at least given me credit for posting this on the Forum two days ago! (And my picture is better, showing the corner and the windows on both sides of the building.) And Park Place gets credit for finding the rendering.
wait that’s not the one i thought.. the one im thinking of is on a side street between 5th and 4th that hasnt been worked on in what seems like forever. it has yellow stuff on it and it looks like the concrete is corroding. i think there might be squatters in there using it as a clubhouse or something. cuz there’s always like cans and stuff inside, unless people are just throwing it in from the sidewalk

NOOOOOO dont take away the clubhouse!

Please see your own forum earlier in the week for pics and discussion of this building. Scooped by your own site! 🙂
I think it will look just fine when completed. Just too damned small on the inside. Walk by this development and you’ll see what I mean.
The size and placement of the window openings are not instilling a sense of confidence in the final look.
