This is a residential building going up in Red Hook across the street from the Red Hook Housing Projects and a block away from Red Hook Park. No word yet on if it will be rentals or condos, but according to the DOB it’s capped at three stories. The side of the development on Hicks Street looks just about done, with the Lorraine side catching up. We’ll be interested to see how these will be priced. DOB P*Shark GMAP

  1. You mean it’s across from the projects. It’s not like you have to go through the projects to get in. One side faces them, but the other faces one of the ball fields. Maybe the developer was thinking “parkside.” I’m also dying to know what the plan is for these. It’s better than the trash filled lot (complete with boat in classic Red Hook style) that used to be there.

  2. I was just commenting about how these buildings are situated in kind of the worst possible place. They are not tragically horrible looking, so I just wonder who is behind these? Did the money come from someone far away who was enticed by the “up coming” Brooklyn nabe of Red Hook without ever seeing the site?

And will they get rented (not sold, surely- unless they are low or median income) and by whom?

All access is through the Projects.

Please anyone else have any insight?
