The Brooklyn Paper is reporting that the City Council is poised to approve the Domino development project on the East River in Williamsburg when it meets today thanks to a last-minute compromise that will reduce two of the residential towers from 40 stories to 34 stories while maintaining all 660 units of affordable housing originally promised. According to the article, the concessions from the developer along with a firm nudge from Mayor Bloomberg were enough to finally win the support of rookie Councilman Steve Levin, who had been a vocal critic of the project from the moment he came into office. Stay tuned for the results of the final Council.

  1. Awesome – make the project less profitable for the developers, and stall them along the way so they end up cutting corners and building an even uglier piece of crap.
