A new gourmet kosher restaurant is coming to 497 Atlantic Avenue. According to the new business’s Facebook page, Pardes, as it is called, is scheduled to open at the end of September. The menu looks Asian-inspired, with heavy Indian and Japanese influences. Based on the comments on the Facebook page, it looks like there’s a big pent-up demand for some good kosher food on this stretch. GMAP

  1. I believe, gemini10, that bxgrl is referring to David’s Brisket House on Nostrand. I had their pastrami once and it was very good. Mostly, though, I get their brisket sandwiches on club. I’ve been going there, when I’m riding down Nostrand, for about 10-12 years. By the way, it’s Arab-owned (Yemeni, I believe), not Jewish. Very nice, friendly, and reasonable in any case.

  2. I am very much looking forward to this. As for pseudo-dairy deserts, that strikes me as bizarre or at least misguided.

By the way, has anyone been to Basil Basil in Crown Heights? The food was at least ok+ the ambiance is wonderful for a K joint.
