Back in March, we reported that the old Cafe on Clinton space was being taken over by a new locavore restaurant under new ownership called Breuckelen. The new signage is up (and looking pretty classy), and a Ted & Honey regular tells us that there’s been a lot of activity behind the papered windows. Anyone know when Breuckelen is expected to open? They have a website already (no menu on it yet) and it says it’s going to open this month
After mulling its potential trendiness I think I am loving the branding & its execution. Can’t wait to check it out!
Why is it going to take until next spring to open this place? Who has that kind of money? Also I for one am glad that the signage has been updated – mmm dark, shiny and dim – sorry for the cattiness but I found that old script tiresome.
For the record, it’s not Breucklelen…it’s Breuckelen.
If the name bothers you so much you can always eat at Moutarde.
i agree with *rob*. i just can’t with the name of this place. but if the food’s good i’ll be there every weekend.
So is this place owned by someone who operates another existing restaurant somewhere???
I have it from a good source they’re going to open in Spring 2010.
