Rehab at 543 Madison Street

We’re not sure exactly how long Bed Stuy’s 543 Madison Street has been out of commission, but it’s certainly been several years. (All we could find was this DOB article explaining that 543 Madison’s landlord was jailed for failing to repair scores of violations here back in 2006; there are also photos on Property Shark from 2006 that shows the building boarded up.) The good news is that it looks like someone’s finally doing something to remedy the situation: The current owner, who bought the property in 2007 for $565,000 is currently doing a full rehab. In fact, when we passed by just a few weeks ago the eight-family building was shrouded. Nice to see. GMAP P*Shark DOB
