We were feeling investigative-reportery when we spotted the brown paper in the windows at 645 Vanderbilt on Friday and, upon closer inspection, noticed the small print along the bottom of the window not exactly trumpeting the imminent arrival of the Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shop. Then, over the weekend, a tipster sent in a photo of the banner actually trumpeting the imminent arrival of what they’re now calling Prospect Bagels. Good news for P-Heights? GMAP

  1. I heard the guys from Zaytoons had a bagel store called F-line bagel around Cobble Hill area once upon a time till the MTA gave them problems cause the store look a lot like a train station and tried to sue them or something not sure but other wise heard their bags and coffee were really good…

  3. Yes! Just yesterday, I was saying that Vanderbilt needs a bagel shop. I can always go to Joyce for Gorilla coffee, but Bergen Bagels is too far for a bagel (and frankly, I’ve never been impressed with them). I’m cautiously optimistic.

  4. Hard to imagine that the guys at Zaytoons who are so good at felafel will also be good at bagels, but I’m willing to give them a shot. At least it’s not likely to have the capital A Attitude that they do at Milk Bar across the street. The people who work there are SO pretentious.

  5. Good news if they’re as good as Bagel Hole.
    Ok news if they’re decent.
Bad news if they’re round bread w/ a hole in the center and they’re just called bagels out of convenience.
