Tavern on Dean, a neighborhood favorite at Dean and Underhill, closed this summer. But this article in the Prospect Heights Patch says Community Board 8 recently approved a new bar coming into the space. Looks like it will be open by the beginning of December and renamed simply ‘Dean Street.’ GMAP

Good riddance to TOD: shoddy service and substandard food. I’m sure the new place will cater to the new yuppie element of the area (yes, that means people of all races).
too bad Tavern closed, great bar and clientele ‘mixed’
