A few tipsters have sent word (and, in one case, this picture) of the new storefront at 410 Court Street. As far as we know it’s supposed to be a fast food chain. One of our readers says, “They did a fairly tasteful classic white wood storefront, in contrast to some of the modern drab metal and stucco storefronts that have come up, like Duncan Donuts and Citibank katy-corner from here.” Do you think it fits? Lost City isn’t thrilled with the “big silvery steam pipe” snaking its way up one side of the building.

  1. Hmmm, to add to lifer’s comment, I noticed that there is no flashing or other signs of corporate architecture standards (the door to the patio is ridiculously low). So yeah, probably locals. Sad when the locals treat building worse than a Subway would.

  2. My girlfriend asked one of the old timer neighboring businesses what was up, and they said the owner of the Fountain (and laundromat’s) sons are opening up an Italian place, with a section for sit down pizza and ice cream, and the other section a nicer restaurant type thing with outdoor seating.

  3. peeked in one of the edges of the windows over the weekend….to the left of the doors
looked like the counter where you order…had a alot of red going on. not sure what that really says but it kind of rules out subway for me…so maybe a five guys?

  4. An interesting thing is there is alrady an “Arizona Iced Tea” sticker on the front window, which makes me think it is not going to be 5 Guys. Also, it looks like they are going to have outdoor seating on the side street, which I wouldn’t be too happy about if I were a neighbor on 1st Place.
