  1. Byrne, Dunne, doh!

I used to do the same thing with Bill Cosby and Bing Crosby.

“Not really. You think wages will go up to chase and support higher home prices, let alone skyrocketing food, energy and transportation costs? You’d be dead wrong.”

I think they have to, or the entire system will collapse. It is very ugly out there on the lower side of the income scale.

  2. nyc is not “the economy”. nyc was bailed out like it or not. people who buy nyc real estate are fine. the wealth was successfully shifted (or preserved, rather) to the upper class.

Bernake believes the risk of 1982 is highly preferable to 1930. Inflate and devalue, while saving the world. Sounds a little too good to be true? Well, it is, but how’d you do in nyc real estate if you bought in 1982? Full steam ahead!!

Of course, that’s not how it will go (never is) but if you believe in inflation then you want hard assets and not paper money. Oil, gold, real estate. Clearly people who are *paying* for the pleasure of buying TIPS are in this category.

  3. “BHO’s wishes of a market crash died a little more today.”

Not really. You think wages will go up to chase and support higher home prices, let alone skyrocketing food, energy and transportation costs? You’d be dead wrong. Profit margins are going to get squashed paper thin due to higher business costs associated with the commodity spike. Unemployment will continue to go up.

Homes will still sell off and collapse through their intrinsic floors (10x rent, 3x income) so house-poor households can keep up with food, energy and transportation spikes. There’s going to be a lot more renters than owners. Then the stock market will collapse again, worse than in 2008.

Bernanke murdering us to save the banks. What’s the new congress going to do?

    ***Bid half off peak comps***
