Marius Cafe closed over the summer for renovations, promising to reopen September 1st. But that deadline has come and gone, and the place has remained shut. seems like they’re penny wise and pound foolish about remodeling (red banquettes??) and don’t know what they want to be. coffee shop/deli/restaurant? think the health code violations from the past summer were the death knell. maybe it’s just one of those places that no matter what you put there it doesn’t work for some reason.

I’ve heard that it is going to reopen as a cuban cafe.
I know, I know. I try to stay away from the H-word and all, but I really gave that place a few tries and Every Single Time they were ridiculous. Add to that the ENDLESS shifting of the furniture, the annoying live music on the weekends that blasted into my apartment, the pitifully misspelled signs announcing new dishes, the offer of free coffee in return for a positive review on Yelp and that hideous, bright sign that they STILL light up, even though they’ve been closed for months. ARGH, they’ve created a monster and I can’t give them any more chances!
Whoa, EatIt. But, yeah, I know what you’re talking about, of course. The bagels were made right, though, and there were one or two workers who made it pleasant when they were there. However, yes, there was something rotten in Denmark there, indeed.
I’d be surprised if he reopened. Though I’m also surprised that there are permits for renovation. Seemed like there were financial problems. Miss the bagels a lot.
This place sucks Big Time. I hate them. They have NO idea how to run a business and are totally incompetent when it comes to providing service and completing food orders. I wish they’d just give up. It’s an eye sore.
