A tipster wrote in after he noticed a storefront appear at 255 Myrtle Avenue, at Adelphi. It had been a boarded up deli for awhile, and he was hoping the spot would open as a bar. We did some digging and were told it will merely be a bodega, moving in from its previous corner at Myrtle and North Portland. In more exciting news, 364 Myrtle, which is right across the street, will be an “upscale dessert lounge” called Cake Joy. According to MyrtleAvenue.org the soft opening has already happened, although it still looked pretty quiet to us over the weekend. GMAP

  1. oh bite, me. explain to me what an upscale dessert lounge even is. it’s so vomit inducing pretentious and an embarrassment of nyc.

  2. there are already bodegas on every corner of myrtle is the point, simple rob. there are currently no upscale dessert lounges so that makes its arrival a little more interesting.

i expected you to just make fun of the name and call it yuppie or something like that,
