Promising Plans for Union Smith Cafe

We knew Union Smith Cafe was going Mexican, but yesterday there was some buzz on who exactly would be moving in. Carroll Gardens Patch first reported that Diego, an upscale Mexican joint, will fill the space and be operated by the owner of Bagels By the Park and Gowanus Yact Club. The owner said the menu would be designed by Ivy Stark of Dos Caminos, but when the news was picked up by Eater it was shot down as a rumor. Celebrity chef or not, the menu should be mid-priced and is set to open New Years Eve.
