CityPoint
The first phase of the ultimately gigantic CityPoint project–a four-story retail building at the southern end of the site closest to Fulton Mall–broke ground back in July. As of September there still wasn’t much progress visible from the street, but recently we noticed beams peaking up over the construction fence and decided to ask for a closer look. Hardhat on, we were able go inside the current construction site yesterday to snag these photos. Good times! The building, which is designed by Cook + Fox and Greenberg Farrow, is still on track for a Spring 2012 completion date. You can see renderings here. GMAP

I heard from a reliable source that the tenant will be another Target. Oh well.

That’s too bad. I’d like to see a Walmart there, just to give the Target at Atlantic Center a little competition.

  2. Cool. I almost forgot about CityPoint, glad to hear its moving along. Does anyone know what the retail piece will be? Last I heard it was a Target, or a Bed, Bath & Beyond, but I havent heard anything recently.

And the new park in front of the Dime Savings Bank looks like it will be done by the summer. Good stuff. That should interest a retailer.
