That was quick…the exterior on the P.S. 8 addition is almost complete. It was just getting bricked up back in November, and now most of the windows are in. It’s an elementary school, not a high-rise condo development.
The development of this vacant land is a great use of underutalized tax payer resources. As opposed to tax payers subsidizing private for profit development. It might have been a good idea to build out all of the unused air rights instead of just a portion of it.
This seems to be progressing significantly faster than I anticipated. Fabulous.
it is perfectly acceptable. No silly architectural affectations, just a nice traditional brick with limestone facade and multi-light windows. That’s all it takes.
Now I hope the SCA spruces up the main school a bit. The first order of business is to get rid of the hideous window grilles that make it look like the students are all mentally ill and have to caged in.
