Property Shark‘s monthly foreclosure report brings some pretty good news, as far as these things go: New scheduled foreclosure auctions in Brooklyn were down 60 percent, year-over-year, with 17 scheduled last month as opposed to 42 in January ’10. That trend is in line with every borough aside from the Bronx, where there were the same number of scheduled auctions this January as last. The number of lis pendens, meanwhile, were down citywide year-over-year; in Brooklyn there were 316 last month as opposed to 505 last January. Still, Brooklyn continues to be just behind Queens in terms of having the most residential lis pendens in the city. Click through for that graphic.
