We’ve been enjoying reading “The Invention of Brownstone Brooklyn: Gentrification and the Search for Authenticity in Postwar New York” so we’re sure that tomorrow night’s panel at the Museum of the City of New York emceed by the book’s author, Suleiman Osman, should be an interesting one. Panelists include Michelle de la Uz, executive director of the Fifth Avenue Committee; Eric Demby, co-founder of the Brooklyn Flea; and D. Kenneth Patton, former divisional dean of the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate. Mention Brownstoner when you call to reserve tickets at 917-492-3395 and get the membership price of $6.
We’re going. Bob, I have brown shoulder-length hair and am wearing a navy blue dress.
Oh boy I can’t go tonight and I’m not sure I can go tomorrow, but I want to go. If I do, Bob, I’ll look out for you.
That’s not awkward at all – the readings are where the noteworthy paperbacks are and are still reachable if that’s what you want. Only the New York and magazine sections get blocked.
I’m lukewarm about this book – no mention of a certain blog (I checked in the index when at a reading there recently).
Greenlight is a great bookstore. I always find it awkward though when they have a reading going on and I just want to go in and buy a book.
Bob, there are also Atlantic Yards Report and Community Board 2 special offers, all at $6.00 of course.
Why go to Manhattan? To hear the thoughts of those obscure people Minard Lafever is unfamiliar with.
It’s FREE tonight in Fort Greene:

Why go to Manhattan? Suleiman Osman is at Greenlight Books tonight.
I didn’t notice that Mr. B wrote: “Mention Brownstoner when you call to reserve tickets at 917-492-3395 and get the membership price of $6.”
FWIW there’s also a Lefferts Manor Association price of–you guessed it–$6.00 🙂
why no Mr. B on the panel?
