A reader forwarded along a very cool tip about portraits that have gone up on Bergen Street stoops between 4th and 5th avenues. In all, ten stoops have been outfitted with large posters, with many concentrated near 4th Avenue. This information came up on the artwork: “INSIDE OUT is a large-scale participatory art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. Upload a portrait. Receive a poster. Paste it for the world to see.” It seems these are photos of local shop owners in the neighborhood. A homeowner said they’ve been up for about a week.
