I put in double pane windows last year from Mega Glass, and i noticed that between the panes of glass there is sometimes a fog or some other type of buildup. This really occured in the winter. Is that common in thermal windows?

  1. I’ve had this problem on a few of my windows.
They were called “double hung aluminum windows”.
I got them fixed by a general contractor that renovated our kitchen and bathroom.
It’s been almost two years, and the condensation has not come back.

I think their website was “www.ChineseContractor.com”.
    I forgot their phone #.

  2. Sounds as if there’s condensation… seal’s broken, call Mega, it should be replaced.

Our co-op was very displeased with Mega Glass
and stopped doing business with them…
this was about ten years ago, so maybe they have gotten things together since then.

  3. It may have to do with the location of your heating diffusers/radiators (depending on type of system). If you are not dealing with the heating load at the location where they occur–the windows–then you may see condensation build up. Or, you do not have a tight seal in your insulation cavity between the 2 panes of glass, which is something worth taking up with Mega Glass.
