Lost City brings word that the famously dilapidated Cobble Hill property at 149 Kane Street, the so-called Rat-Squirrel house, appears to be in the process of getting a much-needed rehab. The cornice has been taken off the building, which Lost City sees as a welcome development: “I’ve wondered aloud when the dropping wooden cornice would finally fall and kill someone. It never did, though it hung lower and lower with each passing season.”
