What is surprising to me is that witnesses observed smoke at 9am and I didn't hear sirens until about 9:30, which is when I ran up to my roof to take the top photo. Did no one call 911 for 30 mins?

their bread is amazing. as long as they sell those sourdough boules, I will never again. buy another loaf in a plastic bag.
I tried looking at the HOB website to find out bus routes, etc. and it was pretty sketchy. No maps, very view time schedules. They are not making it very easy for people to use this service. I'd love to take this bus to First Sat., but I can't even figure out where to catch it.

Its part of the "aesthetic". You can't see it from the picture, but they've actually spray painted We the Free on the side of the building.

I wasn't implying that the FDNY response was slow - I have no way of knowing that. I was just wondering when they were called relative to when the first witnesses saw the smoke.
