Starbucks would have done great with all the vehicle traffic on 4th because it was going to have a parking in front of the store.

My favorite restaurant in the Slope. Fresh ingredients well prepared, and a very small mark up on wine compared to other restaurants.

Really like this place, staff are eager to please, wines are well chosen and the food is consistently good.

thank you Remix, especially since crazypants obviously didnt watch the episode. I hate people who comment without knowing the facts. Oh well everybody has their own reason for posting.

and who would be foolish enough to pay extra for HBO?"

I love when people make these broad generalizations that are both infantile and meant to show their eliteness. Sad

To bedstuy 11216

I definitely came away from that article with an acute sense that the market is real soft in Bed Stuy. Usually these are fluff pieces where the writer sees no flaws, however, the mention of the drop in prices and the quotes were definitely more negative than normally the case and seemed to highlight that Bed Stuy is suffering more tham most.

If you guys actually read the listing you would see that it is currently being used as a triplex with ground floor rental. What might have thrown you off is that the owners' kitchen is on the 3rd floor.

"doldrum should take comfort with that traffic commissioner (forget his name) who presented the tone-deaf plan to convert 6th/7th to one-way; he actually claimed 1) the traffic is as slow on 1 way streets as 2-; and 2) that there are fewer vehicle-ped accidents when turning left as the ped only has to check out one side. My reaction is that if a ped does not look both ways before crossing a 2-way street, it's better he's out of the gene pool.'

PPW is a different kettle of fish. It will attract many more vehicles when it is 2 way as many cars cannot access it directly from PPW SW or the Prospect Expressway. More cars , more potential accidents, especially with the crazy drivers , who will cut off anyone in their way for a parking space. This sentiment is shared by many of my neighbors who emailed me about this yesterday before I was even aware of the petition. Also, more congestion = more noise for those living nearby.

Posted by: doldrums at March 25, 2009 2:04 PM in response to Survey: More Two-Way Traffic Needed Around GAP

come on, many more people access it from 5th Ave(one way last I looked) than CPS. Central Park is much longer than it is wider and its users live more uptown where the residential housing is. I'm sure if you proposed making 5th Ave 2 way, there will be a public outcry.

"Central Park South is a two way street and somehow people manage to cross it to get to that park without getting killed. Are you implying that Brooklynites are that much dumber than Manhattanites?"

Posted by: doldrums at March 25, 2009 1:42 PM in response to Survey: More Two-Way Traffic Needed Around GAP

"doldrums you are making no sense. how will making ppw 2-way result in more traffic?"

Easy, more access from aouth via windsor Terrace. So now you can access PPW from Eastern Parkway/GAP or the circle off of PPW SW. Now double the cars can directly access it.

Posted by: doldrums at March 25, 2009 1:28 PM in response to Survey: More Two-Way Traffic Needed Around GAP

Plus PPw will have much more traffic and when combined with the u-turns , the results won't be pretty.

Posted by: doldrums at March 25, 2009 1:12 PM in response to Survey: More Two-Way Traffic Needed Around GAP

.

"doldrums: "as they get blindsided..." what, these are very special kids and adults who NEVER cross a 2-way street? They map out special routes to only traverse 1-ways?"

you should see how they cross the street now, in their rush to get to the park. Wait until it's 2 way. I live near the Park and all my neighbors are against the idea.

Posted by: doldrums at March 25, 2009 1:07 PM in response to Survey: More Two-Way Traffic Needed Around GAP

Terrible idea about 2 way traffic on PPw. with so many kids and adults crossing PPw to get to the park, this plan will result in pedestrian injuries as they get blindsided by cars coming from both directions.

Great combinations of latin Food. especially like the risks that take in staying somewhat faithful to the cuisine. And it's nice to have Argentine mate seved the proper way in a gourd, a bombilla and a pot of hot water. The meat dishes are superior to their fish offereings, but overall excellent.

"Many cities such as Orlando, Atlanta are becoming a LOT more urban than they were 10 years ago with many new developments and walkable live/work neighborhoods, at 1/3 (or less?) the price of NYC. "

Was Orlando and walkable used in the same sentence? I just came back from Orlando and the only walking I witnessed was between the car and the store/place of business. Downtown Orlando is dead and buried/ many closed businesses and foreclosed condos.

good food, ignorant service. Server neglected to tell us to look at both chalkboards. We confined ourselves to one and we were less than happy when we realized the other board had listed what we wanted but our food was already on the table by then.

The big downer for me for bh is its proximity to downtown bklyn and the courthouses. It's congested during the day and barren there at night. the restaurants cater to the courthouse goers and they are horrible. Even to get to much better Cobble Hill you must cross formidable Atlantic ave and all of its traffic. With the choice of shops, food and entertainment there really is no comparison. It's PS by a mile.

It's so obvious that the posters who are compaining are the ones who live in ft greene and see crime increasing. In order to protect further declines in their property values they blast brownstoner for commenting on the truth. well well, I bet if this happened in brooklyn heights, Cobble Hill or Ps, these same posters would change their tune. How laughable.

I've got to post something on Brooklynian quick. any nonsense will do -just so Gowanus Longe and brownstoner have content.
