the split on this place is amazing. maybe they just dont like fat ugly people!
just kidding :) im fat n ugly. and ive never had a bad experience there. maybe its cause ive never been on a fri/sat night, but when i go, the food is always good. the service isnt speedy, but its totally acceptable. anyone i smile at smiles back (must be the bulge in my pants). anyway, perhaps they get pissy on weekends?? believe me im the 1st 1 usually to bitch about french service, but i always feel that its at least 1 notch above that here. and do love the band.

the food here is delicious and the staff is nice. the menu is inventive, but also includes things the most boring eater could enjoy. its definitely overlooked on many best-of lists.

have any of u ever tasted a plain pie from grimoldys? its so lame. it tastes like nothing. like they forgot to put salt in it. fascatis is way better. if u want old school try lombardis. and of course the ridiculous lines. but where else are tourists supposed to go. its the easy way out for every tourist/food show there is. grimaldis and the ice cream shop. they need to dig deeper.

u girls are all snobs. u rag on bubbys like they were some snotty place trying to be hip or something. these guy provide a refuge in a hood were there arent a lot options, and none that are a value. depending on day/time, bubbys can be a place for family, brunch, drinks, dessert, group dinner and more. they do have problems with consistency because they struggle to stay in biz and they dont have their pick of the litter when it comes to staff. like the food, the staff is hit or miss. lately, most of the waitstaff is actually pretty cool. and when u feel like theyre ignoring u, its just because on weekdays, there's 1 waiter for the entire place. hey, no one said it was gonna be Bouley. just flag em down and ask for what u need. in terms of the food, its hit or miss too. but their lunch is usually good. and now all their burgers are grass-fed beef. in addition to burgers, the homemade sodas and of course the pies are excellent. so it aint the place to go for a hot date. but if you're with a group or you're with the kids, there is no better place in west brooklyn to go.

and for those who say its "extremely overpriced", where have u been eating? ps 8 cafeteria?
