Parlor Floor Demo

Here are some shots of the parlor floor after the first week of demolition. We were particularly interested to see that the molding from the front room continued beyond the partition wall to the middle section where closets and a bathroom had been added. This makes perfect sense because the marble fireplace is centered on that larger dimension.

I was wondering if you guys could put up some detailed info about financing a project like this? I would love to do something like this but I have no idea about estimating construction costs and tiem frames.

How much have you budgeted?
Did you get a construction loan?
How do those types of loans work for brownstones?
did you buy from HUD or a Bank REO?

How did you estimate costs?
what does: Demo, a new kitchen, flooring, etc cost?

how much are you doing? how much work are you contracting out? how much of your life is it taking over? a huge portion im sure!

Personaly I know about valuing properties but only in good condition (some people would no doubt appretiate this type of help as well).

in any case thanks for making a great site!
