Working on the Walls

pipes up

No, we're not painting our bedroom pink. This is a layer of Velabond Weld-O-Bond, which helps hold together the layers of plaster and paint.

There is no such thing as Velabond. Do you mean Weld-O-Bond?

Thanks, Nancy. That must be it!

when we had our bedroom walls replastered like this, the way the light fell on the pink mesh inspired us to go with a very pale pink paint: the unfortunately-named "Bridal Rose" from Benjamin Moore, an old-fashioned looking pink which has a good deal of gray in the mix. It's turned out to be the most beautiful color for the room -- which is east-facing -- gentle, soothing, and not at all obtrusive. Like the color of fallen magnolia blossoms. Go pink, Brownstoner. You'll wake up every morning smiling.

Will pass that along to Mrs. B. She's in charge of interiors.
