From the Forum: Do I Need a Permit to Replace Gas Pipe Unions?
What is the right way to replace a gas pipe union and how much should it cost?
A Brownstoner reader is looking to replace some gas pipe unions that are not up to code. The reader says a plumber quoted over $1,800 for a gas line test and to file a permit to replace the unions. They are wondering whether or not the plumber is required to give a certificate after the tests are complete and documentation as to whether or not the lines are compliant.
Please provide any words of advice you have below.
