Homeowners are hoping to do a renovation on their townhouse but are wondering if they can go ahead and remove the extra kitchen. It’s a two-family but they will be using it as a one-family until they can afford to turn the garden level into a rental. In the meantime, they want to remove the second kitchen on the top floor. What should they find out about their certificate of occupancy and filing options before making a decision?
Please chime in with your advice.
