From the Forum: Should a Homeowner Repair or Replace the Original Staircase?
A reader would like to keep the original staircase, but their general contractor is recommending that they replace all the treads and risers.
A reader would like to keep the original staircase, but their general contractor is recommending that they replace all the treads and risers. Some of the steps are pulling out of the stringer, a condition which seems like it should be repairable. The homeowner is hoping for some staircase repair success stories from other homeowners.
